ImpactWeather Gmaps
ImpactWeather's latest client-specific weather service is the ImpactWeather Gmaps Interactive Mapping System which plots accurate, timely weather data on top of state-of-the-art Google Maps. Some features of Gmaps include:
- New full weather maps utilizing the highly dynamic Google Maps tool
- Three different formats: Basic (free to current clients), Standard and Professional
- Global coverage: local, regional, national, international
- A web-based, continually updating, heads-up representation of the weather that affects your business
- Displays ImpactWeather's StormWatch customized, proprietary hazardous weather forecasts (Standard and Professional levels only)
- Includes the suite of weather products you already rely on from ImpactWeather:
- Animated radar
- Visible, infrared and water vapor satellite imagery
- Current conditions (latest temperature, humidity, wind speed, dew point, etc.) at thousands of U.S. weather stations
- U.S. Lightning Summary
- National Weather Service (NWS) Watches and Warnings
- Allows for pan and zoom clickability and changeable map backgrounds
- Allows integration of your company's proprietary, non-weather information for a complete “situational awareness” solution (Professional level only)
- Features breakthroughs in the newest, high-precision weather radar
Gmaps is wholly clickable and zoomable. For instance, you can display worldwide Current Conditions on top of the U.S. Lightning Summary on top of temperatures and then zoom in and select a Local Forecast for U.S. locations.
Another handy Gmaps element: You don't have to download any software to utilize these great new features. Simply use your web browser as you normally do to access your weather website.
Gmaps Options
Gmaps Basic is provided to all ImpactWeather clients completely free of charge. Standard and Professional licenses require a small access fee. The Gmaps access fee enables the enhanced Gmaps application for all users authorized to access ImpactWeather client weather websites. Features of Gmaps Standard and Professional include:
Gmaps Standard: Displays Your Weather Department Information and Your Locations
Gmaps Standard includes the addition of ImpactWeather customized weather information from TropicsWatch and StormWatch and map layers. This allows you to display, for example, your locations along with hurricane track information . . . and radar . . . and NWS info . . . all at the same time on a single map for you to view at any time.
Gmaps Professional: Displays Your Weather Department Information and Allows More Locations and/or Customized Information
In addition to all the upgrades included in the Basic and Standard Gmaps options, you may also want the ability to display other assets/locations or points of interest on your ImpactWeather Gmaps. With Gmaps Professional, you can display your other assets/facilities, key supplier locations, or perhaps service area outlines . . . even your organization's regional management structure outline.

ImpactWeather clients who want access to the best current weather-following information available online can now access ImpactWeather GUARDIANsm. Based on client input and powered by considerable recent advances in weather data technology, ImpactWeather GUARDIAN offers the type and quality of weather data previously available only to professional meteorologists.
